It’s startling to find a loved one who has passed, especially if they were not found for days or weeks. The situation can be overwhelming and for most in this circumstance, you don’t know where to start looking to find after death cleaning services.
In many cases a death often creates cross contamination from room to room, so we treat every unattended death clean up as if there is an intensified risk of infection or disease.
California state regulations deem all body fluids and tissue to be a biohazard requiring expert knowledge and special safety, handling and disposal procedures. NO! You should never attempt to clean-up hazardous material, such as blood or bodily fluids, by yourself. Not only do you run the risk of exposing yourself to harmful contaminants, but you also put others at risk as improper cleanup can also spread the contaminants to other areas.
It is very important to hire a professional biohazard cleaning company that is trained in hazardous waste removal and blood borne pathogens. Precautions must be taken in adherence to OSHA and the California Department of Public Health rules and regulations - such as wearing Personal Protective Equipment (or PPE), and properly disposing of any contaminated materials.

Most major homeowners insurance policies will cover the costs of cleaning after an unattended death. We will work directly with your insurance company, and many times you are only responsible for the deductible.
Keep in mind, these types of clean-ups are often not covered by renter’s insurance policies.
